On August 15th, for our final concert of the summer, we’re delighted to present “something extraordinary” (The New York Times), namely, the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet from Boston.
The Parker Quartet is one of America’s foremost quartets, praised for its “fiercely committed performances…intense, virtuosic, utterly assured” (Boston Globe).
Inspiring performances, luminous sound, and exceptional musicianship are the hallmarks of the Parker Quartet. Renowned for its dynamic interpretations and polished, expansive colors, the group has rapidly distinguished itself as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation. In demand worldwide, the Parker Quartet has appeared at the most important venues worldwide since its founding in 2002.
Cited by the Denver Post as “a formidable force”, the Parker Quartet “propel the music irresistibly, but with extraordinary grace and flexibility” (Washington Post). Experience some of the grace and flexibility of the Parker Quartet in this WGBH profile (in which they perform Mozart’s String Quartet No. 23 in F Major):
We’re excited to present the Parker Quartet in concert, performing Mozart’s K. 589 (B-flat Major), Stravinsky’s Three Pieces and Concertino, and Brahms’ Quartet No.3.
We are highly confident that this will be an outstanding concert with which to conclude our 2017 season.
