Rastrelli Cello Quartet

Our summer concert series opens on Tuesday evening, July 16th, with the all-cello Rastrelli Cello Quartet from Germany, which has achieved international renown for its non-traditional live concert performances mixing classical, jazz and popular music.Whether you prefer the music of Brahms, Bartok or the Beatles, this concert will be distinctly enjoyable!

Three members of the Rastrelli Quartet were born in St. Petersburg (the fourth member was born in Belarus), and the quartet takes its name from the 18th century architect Bartholomew Rastrelli, who designed the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. A singularly unique ensemble, the Rastrelli has performed in many of Europe’s great concert halls, including the Gasteig Munich, Philharmony Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonic Hall St. Petersburg, and Liederhalle Stuttgart, and has recorded seven CD’s.
